Not to long ago this one came in from one of our local sponsors to give us heads up about it so that we could write a review on it.
Audio Technica’s new range of headphones is scoring very good around the globe, especially the flagship of those series the ATH-M50X, as we have been looking forward to this one we finally had the chance to check it out.
The new ATH-M50x is actually a re-imagining from the ATH-M50, Audio Technica did not really redesigned it from the ground up, but they have improved the already doing very good M50, so now all of the best bits were kept and they added what the experienced user asked for.
One of the big asked questions was: Detachable cables, not only they are now detachable you will also get a 3m straight a 1.2 straight and 1.2 coiled cable with the ATH-M50X.
The ear-cups are now 90 degree turnable, which is perfect for one ear monitoring in the studio or Dj’ing.
They also do a very great job on sound isolation.
They have 45 mm large aperture drivers that have a 15Hz – 28,000Hz range.
The ATH-M50X are sounding very clear, they tell me exactly what i hear to it’s finest detail, great studio headphones for mixing and mastering just because of the wide range and the very clear sound of it.
I did not try them on any DJ gig, but i bet they will work perfect for dj’ing too.
For listening pleasure, the ATH-M50X are perfect, if you just want to enjoy your music collection with these headphones it will be even a bigger pleasure to listen to music, for producers tho, they will let you fix things in the mix what you thought did not needed any fix in the first place.
Conclusion: Topnotch headphones for studio use, DJ’ing or purely listening pleasure.
