Here at Dirty Disco we love anything that Heist releases and we’re also fan of the productions from the Swedish multi-instrumentalist Crackazat, so a combination of these two means that without even listening to it this must be something spectacular!
If you’re a fan of deep house like us, then you need to check out the new Crackazat – Demucha EP on Heist Recordings. This vinyl 12″ is 180 grams of pure deep house goodness. The A-side kicks off with “Demucha,” a slow and sexy jazzy deep house track that will have you moving your feet from the first beat. The B-side features two more amazing and well produced tunes that will get your heart racing. Overall, this is an amazing EP and another great release from Heist Recordings!
The title track ‘Demucha’ starts with a slow, jazzy energy that is powered by double bass and percussion. You can feel the speed working its way through every part of this tune before it becomes more evident when the main key comes in. A typical Crackazat style!
“Sarge” creates an airy, dreamlike vibe with bowing strings and bass. A creaking arpeggio near the end adds more depth to this thought-provoking song while faraway voices keep it light.”
The EP’s final track, ‘We Know’, stays away from Crackazat’s signature skippy beats and replaces them with a driving staccato stomp. Raw key stabs along with the talented multi-instrumentalist own distant vocals provide a mesmerizing track that takes you on a glorious sonic trip that will work just as well on the dancefloor as in any other place.
The Demucha EP is once again a prime example of Crackazat’s ability to write an earworm of a tune and produce a sonically rich record in a way that feels both effortless and compelling throughout its entire length.
We didn’t think exceeding his previous release and recent debut album was possible but Crackazat has done it with his new EP ‘Demucha’. If you loved his last release ‘Alfa EP‘ on Heist then you’re in for a treat with this one. Enjoy listening and you know what to do to support the artist, make sure you pre-order this one right here and let us know what you think in the comment section below.
