Detroit Swindle – The Punch Drunk EP

The Amsterdam based producer and DJ duo Detroit Swindle is back with a brand new release on their very own label Heist Recordings, Detroit Swindle – The Punch Drunk EP is their first EP release since the release of their debut Album Detroit Swindle – Boxed Out in 2014. Detroit Swindle is kicking of 2015 with this amazing new EP but at the same time they are also kicking off with their Asia / Australian Tour.

Detroit Swindle – The Punch Drunk EP is also available as a limited 12″ vinyl. Grab one fast when it comes out since there are only 1000 copies available.

For me personally Detroit Swindle keeps surprising me, every single track and every EP and even their debut album Boxed Out grabs my attention. I have been waiting for this sound for a long time to get to another level, thanks to Detroit Swindle this Deep House sound with Disco, Soul, Jazz and Funk elements in it is alive and how? With this many great artists pop up and names like Andy Hart, Max Graef, Nachtbraker, Borrowed Identity, are grabbing my attention with this sound. Damn even i want to create sounds like this now!

The new EP from Detroit Swindle – The Punch Drunk EP is containing 3 tracks and all 3 of them have a bit up-temp BPM than you are used to, the first track “Alright (we’ll be)” which is my personal favorite on the EP is a fast disco / soul groover, where the vocals really gives me goosebumps, what an rush! The second track “Pursuit” is also up-tempo but a bit more of a spacey ride. Deep elements consisting of a very moving deep layered pad, the fast bass-line and the rhythmic percussion are bringing a groove injection straight injected in your body, and there is really no other option than move your body to it. The 3th and last track “Heads Down” is quite similar to “pursuit” but brings an extra dimension with the vocals, synth stabs and the FX sounds. All with all a very nice EP which i will definitely play in my coming sets.

Thank you Detroit Swindle for this amazing EP!
