Dirty Disco 468: The Post-Holiday Episode. Kono Vidovic
Welcome back to another episode of Dirty Disco! I hope you all had a great holiday season. I certainly did, and after the last pre-holiday podcast I’m excited to be back with a new mix of music for you. This week’s episode is packed with new music from some of my favorite artists. You’ll hear new tracks from Crazy P, Medlar, Purple Disco Machine & Cerrone, Joe Hertz, Coyote, and many others. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the music!
Before we dive into the music, I want to take a moment to talk about my holiday break. First of all, I want to thank you all for sticking with me through the past few weeks. It’s been a crazy time, and I appreciate your patience and support. Secondly, I want to explain why I took a break from the podcast and what I did during that time.
Clearly it’s the holiday season, so I planned a beautiful 2 weeks with my family in France and it’s beautiful surroundings of the Ardèche. The bad news is that I unfortunately broke my left feet during an small game of Basketball and ended up in the hospital for a day. So, I was pretty much stuck in our holiday accommodation unable to move around much. But, I’m happy to report that I’m feeling much better now and am ready to get back to business!
This week’s music selection includes a bunch of dope new tracks from some of my favorite artists. You’ll hear new music from Crazy P, Medlar, Purple Disco Machine & Cerrone, Joe Hertz, Osunlade, James Juke and many others, all with great new music. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the music! Here are some previews of what to expect in this mix selection.
The opening track from the new EP “Gone” by Ascension starts off with a deep house groove that quickly evolves into something else. It’s an iridescent synthscape that crashes against the shoreline while muted elegance carries us away to somewhere more luxurious if not decadent in soundscapes of late night jazz clubs or beaches at dusk when you’re all alone but still want someone next to share your secrets. Whether you’re looking to wind down after a long day or get lost in the music at your next house party, this Ascension EP is sure to please.
Joe Hertz’s deep house music style can be felt throughout his new musical production “Hideaway” which features Sebastian Gaskin on vocals. The overall sound is an impressive mix of R&B, alt-pop, and electronic deep bass that is sure to get your feet moving. Gaskin’s vocals are strong and provide a solid foundation for the track while Hertz’s production skills shine through in the detailed beats and catchy melodies. Whether you’re looking for something to dance to or just wanting to relax and enjoy some great music, “Hideaway” is definitely worth a listen.
Music For Swimming Pools returns with the balearic sounds of the Far Flung EP. The 4 fresh originals from founder/producer Pete Herbert are perfect for any poolside playlist. Inspired by his travels, these tracks demonstrate Pete’s diverse and eclectic taste as well as his skills as a music producer. The title track Far Flung heads straight for late night pool party vibes with chunky bass, solid drums and old school piano riff action. Remix duties are performed by fellow island dweller Gold Suite who delivers a stunning sunset serenade, whilst Euro traveler In Flagranti gets seriously deep and uptempo. Whether you’re looking for chilled out beats or something to get you moving, this EP has it all. So dive in and enjoy the ride.
Pleasant Systems is back with its 4th installment “Time Unlimited” from Budapest based Pleasure Voyage. The duo provides us a blissful beach house journey through the most uplifting corners of house, making stops along the way at Italo, Balearic and ambient house music. Whilst the jubilant opening track “Feels So Right” set the tone for the release with a feel-good dancefloor banger, “Portraits Of Us” and “Seashell Island” are driven by deep dreamy pads and synth melodies with intricate soundscapes. This is a must-have for any beach house fan and is sure to make its way onto many summertime charts.
Crazy P called on some of their favorite producers for 12 superb remixes of their beloved 2019 album, ‘Age Of The Ego’. A cosmic, vibe heavy, and eclectic journey through low-slung, groovy balearic, big room disco, deep house, lo-fi, and beyond with artists Crazy P have admired, and friends encountered along the way. The beach house sound is a must have for any DJ selection and this album has been making its way up the charts and popular playlists.
Thank you for tuning into this week’s show, I hope you enjoyed the music! Let me know your feelings in the comment section below and do not forget to check out the tracklist here below.
