Sometimes the music is ready, the mix is finished, the ideas are there, and then reality walks into the studio carrying a heatwave.

That is more or less what happened before this episode. I had to skip a week because the studio turned into a sauna and my laptop made it very clear that it had no interest in joining me for another warm recording session. When your equipment starts protesting harder than a tired clubber at 7 in the morning, you know it is time to step back, drink water and let the machines cool down.

So Dirty Disco 652 arrives with a little extra feeling behind it. It is not just another weekly deep house podcast episode. It is a return to the groove after a week of heat, silence and technical survival.

That also shaped the energy of the mix. I did not want to come back with something too aggressive or overworked. I wanted warmth, flow, depth and movement. Music that breathes. We start with DJ Disse featuring Alonso Gonzalez on “Sangria De Kasbah”, before moving into “Uncle George Intro” and later “Out Of The Game” with Anders Ponsaing and Buda.

Ari’s tracks help connect the deeper house sections with the more playful and melodic parts of the mix. That is exactly why the EP works so well here.

Giom, Vernon & Dacosta and the Value of Deep House Craft

Musicota has a strong house focus with connections to Latin American and international producers, and that energy fits nicely as we move into the second hour.

The second hour is where Dirty Disco 652 becomes more club-driven, more percussive and more global in its movement.

Dirty Channels, Razor-N-Tape and the Club Turn

Dirty Channels arrive with “Jungle Echoes” and “Guilty”, both taken from the “Jungle Echoes EP” on Razor-N-Tape.

Razor-N-Tape is one of those labels that immediately tells you something about the musical direction. You expect groove, quality, edit culture, disco knowledge and club functionality. Dirty Channels fit that environment well.

In the context of this episode, their tracks help move the mix away from the smoother deep house flow and into a slightly tougher club zone. “Jungle Echoes” has that title for a reason. It carries rhythm, atmosphere and movement. “Guilty” keeps the energy locked and gives the second hour more punch.

This track comes from “The London-Maranhão Connection” on Beauty & The Beat, and it brings a completely different kind of energy into the mix. Brazilian percussion, leftfield disco, Balearic looseness, global rhythm and a sense of cultural meeting all come together in one groove.

This is the kind of music that keeps a DJ set alive. Not because it is the biggest track in the room, but because it changes the air. It reminds the listener that house music has always been a conversation between places, people, scenes, rhythms and histories.

After BATB x Loopcinico, the episode moves into Seelo, Miishu and Lizwi with “Imvana” on Mondo Music. Lizwi’s vocal presence brings emotional warmth into the final stretch, giving the mix a soulful lift at exactly the right moment.

Then Otto Knows brings “Part Of You” on Tomorrowland Music.
