If you are a lover of real Disco music, Nu Disco and those dope Disco edits that we play frequently in our weekly music podcasts. The Mexican Disko Knights label is one to follow. This week we give away and feature as a free download their release Elozzo – One Question in this music review.
Who are Elozzo & Disko Knights?
We don’t know much about this producer but we do know that he is from Mexico, loves Disco and recently released a very dope track on the Disko Knights label. The same goes for the label which is based in Mexico and has a big taste for Disco, Funk, Boogie and House music.
Next to that almost all releases on the Disko Knights label are given away for free. This also happens to be the case for the free music download of today that we are reviewing here.
Elozzo – One Question
The quality of the track is from great quality and could easily be one to be on Beatport, or any other online music shop. But it’s not it’s totally for free and available for download just below this music review.
Elozzo – One Question starts with a dope arrangement of percussions including: bongo’s, snares, closed and open hi-hats and toms. Together with a nice subtle pad these elements already create a bit of groove before the solid bass-line comes in.
As soon as the risier introduces the bass-line you’ll get a very good feeling of the main groove. Not long after the kick drum kicks in and you’ll understand that this track has a great potential and is def a crowd / dancefloor shaker.
Subtle FX sounds and the dynamic arrangement make the tracks very comfortable to listen to and to groove to. While the drum pattern and the bassline roll into one, slowly but steady a saxophone lick enters the track set-up and suddenly creates much more atmosphere. Last but not least, one of the main ingredients of the track come in, the vocal.
A very famous vocal.
The vocal used in Elozzo – One Question shapes the whole track, even the title is based up on the vocal. You might feel or even know that you have heard that vocal before. That’s really not a surprise since it’s a very famous and often used House music vocal. Like here in this release by Knee Deep – Can We Really Do This released on 2000 on the Fluential label, and then there are a bunch of other tracks that used this famous house vocal.
The original vocal used for this track by Elozzo, comes from Ellis D – My Loleatta (Dish Apella). The vocal originally starts with the famous phrase “i’m gonna diss you right now” Please refer to this YouTube video for the original vocal.
Elozzo – One Question makes very good use of the vocal and without putting it down as an already to often used vocal Elozzo created a whole new Disco type of interpretation from it. Here at Dirty Disco we really like the track and if you like it to than it’s your lucky day. The track is available as a free download so grab it, use it in your music playlists or for your DJ sets. Have fun playing!
