Feel Fly is an electronic DJ, musician, and composer for film from Perugia who has been described by Gerd Janson as a linchpin in the Italian underground scene.

Real name Daniele Tomassini, he has released Balearic beauties on cult label International Feel, with countless outings on Prins Thomas’ hallowed Internasjonal, Bosconi, New Planetary Melodies and Hell Yeah. Co-founder of the Afro Templum party, Tomassini’s structured and polished sonics have helped to define the Feel Fly sound; a blend of evocative, emotional, and ethereal atmospheres merged into house and cosmic leaning Disco.

Feel Fly Track Talk and new release Sole

In the run up to his new release on Flexi Cuts, entitled ‘Sole’ we ask Feel Fly to talk us through ten tracks that have made a mark on him.

L.B. Bad The Prince Of Dance Music – The New Age Of Faith

If there is one track that has thunderstruck me more than any other, it is this one by the late Lamont Booker; the magic is in the air from the first to the last second of this solemn composition.

Almamegretta – GimmeUrLove (Manasseh Extended Mix)

Quintessence of sensations; a soft and cozy journey in a dub key.

 Aurasfere – Sunrise On Epsilon

A dance among the stars that opened my synapses at an early age; powerful, suspended, dreamy. A comfortable trip that still accompanies me on my sets.

B.W.H. – Stop

The Italo in my DNA I think comes from this timeless gem. I would make a 39-minute (at least) long version of it.

Red Rack’em – In Love Again (fast)

Supreme sampling work of producer Daniel Berman (Outkast – Prototype); utmost delicacy, modern masterpiece of us eternal dreamers.

Giorgio Luceri – More Heart ft. Indr

Giorgio, besides being a dear friend and a great musician, has been a key point in my musical growth; this is one of his bangers. “less business, more hearth” mate.

Placid Angels – Vent

On one of the best labels in the scene, Magicwire, a few years ago came out an album suspended in time by one of my contemporary heroes, John Beltran. Chills.

Ennio Morricone – Un esercito di 5 uomini – Muerte donde vas? (version 2)

Among the varied soundtracks I have been lucky enough to discover thanks to Italian cinema; this one is a real gem; it moves me every time.

Craig T. Cooper – Sweet Water

Sunset over the sea after a lovely day; this is the scenario that opens up in front of me every time I listen to this masterpiece again. Mellow mellow.

Feel Fly – Sole

My latest creation coming out in a few days for Flexi Cuts on limited 7″ vinyl.

A personal hymn to life in an Italo Dream key, enjoy!

End conclusion and thank you.

Thank you for joining us on this musical journey with Feel Fly. We hope you enjoyed discovering the tracks that have influenced his unique sound.
