We really love Detroit Swindle here at Dirty Disco. We have been following there music from the very beginnings and are proud of the fact that they are from the same city of Amsterdam as us. We even featured their latest album High Life in music podcast 261.
To celebrate Christmas and the new year. Detroit Swindle is giving away you their latest edit / remix on Gaoulé Mizik – A Ka Titine (Detroit Swindle Edit) for free.
The idea for doing this edit came from a friend of Lars and Maarten (Detroit Swindle) A guy named Vincent, who happen to be the founder of the once very popular playlist music platform 22tracks that unfortunately stopped with it’s business.
Since Vincent is very much involved with world music through his work and love for music. He came across the original record from Gaoulé Mizik – A Ka Titine. And figured that this would do very good in a Detroit Swindle remix.
After Lars and Maarten took a listen to the original, they right away felt how their edit on Gaoulé Mizik – A Ka Titine should sound like.
Not only the fact that it is a dope piece of music. Gaoulé Mizik – A Ka Titine also seems to be a very rare piece of music. At least the 12”, On Discogs there is only a small amount of available records that is being sold for large amounts. So the fact that this piece of music is not very known by the big public makes it extra cool to do a remix of it.
A perfect track for in your DJ set. Whether you are playing deep house or strictly house music. Even tough Gaoulé Mizik – A Ka Titine (Detroit Swindle Edit) sounds like a real Afro house banger. This track can be played very well in deep house DJ sets as well. Just feel the harmony and use it to build up the energy in your sets.
