When music feels this alive, you know it’s made by people who truly live it. This week on Dirty Disco, we’re joined by Lakeshouse, the Norwegian trio bringing color, humor, and deep musicality back into electronic music. Their debut album Om Verda Mi on Paper Recordings is like stepping into a dream, playful, emotional, and full of stories. In this Track Talk, the guys take us behind every track: from the celestial opening of Introfil to the cosmic Italo of Renates Dans and the heartfelt closer Evig Kjærleik. Let’s dive into the world of Lakeshouse, or as they call it, their own little “fictitious club utopia.”

We had these beautiful chords for a song that didn’t make the cut. We feel it really sets the mood for the start of the journey.
A song about accepting the overwhelming and endless possibilities of life (and music), and then using it to your advantage.
A song about making the choice to get out and live life. But also a song tinged with something dark or ambivalent. The vocal loop translates to “I get out of bed today”.
First of all this is an homage to Phillipe Zdar and Cassius who have meant a lot to us. The ghostly sample-chops and rolling bass is reminiscent of Zdar’s early work. The lyrics say “they’re dreaming of the 90, 90, 90…..”.

Inspired by Pharoah Sanders and Brian Wilson, this is the story of someone walking home at night, thinking about their child at home and at awe with the beauty of the world around them.
A hedonistic and tropical stomper with a tinge of catholic guilt. We were very fortunate to have an 11 year old JoJo do his wonderful vocals on it.
A Kraftwerk-inspired track that spawned from a Japanese album we found. JoJo is also on this. The lyrics are partly taken from Caribbean poet Derek Walcott and then translated to polish.
A sensuous and tactile tribute to our favorite place in the world. Graced by Ada Risberg’s fantastic vocals, who is also featured on other tracks.
Inspired by the club Wilden Renate, this is a kitsch space-italo-disco-extraganza. The melody came to Endre in a dream, and we now think it’s probably Mozart or something.
In our early 20s we fell in love with a record we found by Stein Ingebrigtsen called Bare Stein. We used to play it 45 rpm exclusively, and for this track we found ourselves trying to re-create that magic by writing our own song and sampling it.
The Outrofil chords were so good we had to use them twice. Suddenly a 140 bpm track emerged and the vocals from a previously scrapped song made a reappearance.
The result became a club epic themed on the mystery of love.

Morten wrote some music for a school assignment many years ago. We had an mp3 of it that we’ve listened to over and over ever since, but now was the time to finally do something with it. It became both Evig Kjærleik, and the outro to the album.
Massive thanks to the Lakeshouse crew for opening up their creative universe with us. Om Verda Mi is out now on Paper Recordings, it’s an album that deserves to be experienced from start to finish.
