Every now and then a compilation lands in my inbox that immediately feels intentional. Not just another label sampler, but a statement about where things are right now. Panorama did exactly that for me. From the first listen it felt less like skipping through tracks and more like stepping into a carefully framed scene, one that captures the groove-driven energy of contemporary house while keeping its musical roots firmly intact. This is the kind of release that rewards proper listening time, not background play.
At its core, Panorama is about perspective. Across 13 tracks, De La Groove curates a sound palette that moves fluidly between funk-laced rhythms, jazzy chord progressions, garage swing and deep house pressure. The sequencing is key here. Rather than front-loading peak-time moments, the album breathes, building and releasing energy in a way that mirrors a well-played DJ set.
The compilation balances established names with rising talent in a way that feels organic rather than forced. Contributions from Marc Cotterell, Vanderkraft and Knuckle G bring a sense of confidence and restraint. These tracks lean into groove and musicality instead of chasing obvious drops, letting basslines, drums and subtle synth work do the heavy lifting.
On the other side, artists like Chinau, Larry G, Maison Blanche and Sebastien Grand inject freshness and personality. You hear influences ranging from classic US house to modern European club aesthetics, but nothing feels derivative. The funk elements are subtle and musical, the jazzy touches warm rather than flashy, and the deeper cuts offer space and hypnosis without losing momentum.
What stands out most is how cohesive the album feels despite its diversity. Tracks don’t compete for attention; they complement each other. There is a clear understanding of flow, groove and timing, something that is often missing in modern compilations. Panorama feels designed for DJs, home listeners and late-night headphones alike, which is no small achievement.
The Paris influence is tangible but not overplayed. There is a youthful confidence running through the album, a sense that this scene is comfortable honoring house music’s past while pushing its sound design and groove language forward. It is not trying to reinvent the genre, but it does refine it.
Panorama succeeds because it knows exactly what it wants to be. It is not a hype-driven compilation, but a thoughtful snapshot of a scene that values groove, musicality and long-term impact over quick trends. Big thanks to everyone involved in this release and to the De La Groove team for continuing to spotlight quality and forward-thinking house music. If you appreciate carefully curated compilations that actually tell a story, this one deserves your time. Support the artists and grab the release via the official link.
