It’s been a year ago from his latest release, but Milton Jackson is finally back with a vengeance on Lazy Days Recordings. The UK house producer has released a slew of singles and collaborations in recent months, culminating in his newest EP Integration. After releasing various collaborations with Shur-I-Kan, Matt Masters, and Ski Oakenfull in the recent months, the Integration EP is a triumphant return to form for Jackson. It’s with great pleasure that we see him back to Fred Everything’s label alongside his new musical partner in crime, Ski Oakenfull!
Milton Jackson and Ski Oakenfull have already been doing what they love and sharing their music with the world for a while. It’s clear that their hard work is not going unnoticed. They’ve received early support for their latest project, ‘Integration,’ from some of the prominent names in the House scene such as Ron Trent, Jazzanova, Mano Le Tough, DJ Heather, Harri (Sub Club), Vinny Da Vinci (SA), Severino (Horse Meat Disco) and Mr V. Their unique take on House music is winning them new fans every day, proving that Milton Jackson & Ski Oakenfull are two very exciting producers in today’s industry.
Milton and Ski’s musical relationship first began to take off in 2006 when Ski remixed Milton’s track ‘1998’ for ‘Tronicsole’. A year later, Milton returned the favor and remixed Ski’s ‘Illuminations’ on Primaudial Records. Despite having a good connection, it wasn’t until 2022 that they decided to collaborate on a project together. The result was the captivating track ‘Need Your Love’ taken from the ‘Closer’ EP released on Freerange. While working on this single, Milton also provided Ski with important advice like the secrets of sidechain compression. This close bond has led to many following successful collaborations between the duo, uniting their forthright beats and innovative styles.
Ski & Milton have defied the odds by maintaining a productive collaboration, even though they’ve never actually met each other face to face! Their latest effort, aptly titled Integration EP, features a modern re-imagining of Trevor Bastow’s beloved Library Music classic. Ski layers on top with added keys, then Fred Everything takes it even further by infusing some enchanting Dub elements that turn the track into an irresistible dance floor-ready cut. With its clever blend of disco vibes and original structure, this remix is sure to satisfy listeners from all musical strains!
The first song to be submitted to the Integration EP is Got To Find and was immediately appreciated, bringing a unique fusion of classic deep house vibes and London jazz/soul music. Ski, the keyboardist behind the track, has been involved with acclaimed bands such as Incognito, Dave Lee and his most recent project STR4TA. The EP is concluded with solo efforts from Milton Jackson; the aptly titled Verve, producing a danceable soundscape that will leave listeners wanting more. Ski’s fresh take on house music combined with an already stellar trackset makes this EP complete in every sense of the word.
What could be better than a record from two industry giants? Fans of music and producers alike will be delighted at the release of this incredible EP and have no doubt been eagerly awaiting its arrival. We can only hope there is much more to come and indeed, these 2 musical titans have even hinted at a possible live band being formed. It surely looks like exciting times ahead. Fingers crossed that this project comes to fruition and we can all witness something amazing very soon! Keep on the lookout for further updates. Out 16-2 on Lazy Days Recordings.
