French producer, musician and DJ, Thomas Arroyo aka Laroye has over the last couple of years been dropping musical releases in all the rights places, Atjazz Record Company, and Freerange Records. But it is now time for his long-awaited album and Local Talk are extremely proud to present ‘Let It Go’ to the world. We asked Laroye to talk to us in a little more detail about each track.

Laroye - Let It Go

Beauty In Motion With Abi Flynn.

It is a future boogie vibe, with some classic 80’s elements like the clavinet, the prophet 5 brass stabs, some funky guitars and some shimmery melodic bells.

This tune presents perfectly the subtle nuances of Abi Flynn’s voice on a sophisticated broken beat which invites you to explore new movements, and translate your emotions into your artistic dance.

Let It Go Feat Javonntte.

This one is a dedication to some classic deep and jazzy house from New York and New jersey like Blaze and all of my favorite tunes from 1995. The twist here is the mystical Detroit vibe from the one and only Javonntte dropping an infectious jazz Rhodes lick with some Balearic synths lines.

The call and response between Javonntte’s hypnotic soul hook and my vocals gives the tune a unique combination of vibes and influences.

People Out There (You Gotta Do Whatcha Wanna Do).

I enjoyed dropping some classic future jazz chord progressions and some cosmic lead synths inspired by the sound of Greg Carmichael. I played some Cuban patterns and extra fills on the congas to keep that afro mystic vibe in the background. I would describe this one as an infused P-Funk versus broken house vibe.

Grateful With Jerry Clavier.

It’s song from the heart written by Jerry Clavier and myself. A soulful broken boogie filled with beautiful melodies, funky guitar riffs and jazzy chord progressions. All the synth textures, pads and arpeggios have been chosen meticulously to create a rich warm and deep atmosphere around the round and profound voice of Jerry. And creates an uplifting piece of music embellished by the lush vocal pads and backing from Jo Garland and Bryan Chambers.

Laroye - Let It Go

Potion For Love.

This track has been made with Moodymann in mind. Like a tribute of my deep admiration for his music. I tried to create something similar to some of his tracks where you can find two different vibes merging together, passing from one vibe to another with a DJ mix approach for this jazz-funk, deephouse block party Jam.

Get Down Feat Polose.

The Rhodes is rolling, it never stops, the prophet synths stabs and the Moog sequences are swinging around it. Polose throws down some supreme jazzy solos and I deliver the theme hook on vocals supported by some soulful house vocal chops. I would call this one a pure house-funk basement club cut… for you, for the dancers and the big sound systems.

Keep On.

Heavily influenced by his legacy – Kerri Chandler is still one of my favorite US house producers. This one is pumping, and the congas are calling. The dark stabs and arpeggios are swaying to let the old blues vocal sample connect with the ancestors.

Get Down(The Moonfunk Dub.

The party keeps going, this afro futuristic soul-funk house blend is playing with your mind. A Solid groove shakes your body while the cosmic Prophet 5 is here again to transport you into space and give infinite colors to the journey. Will you ever come back!
