The Norwegian duo Röyksopp is back with new music and it is just as good as we remember! “Control” is the first single off their upcoming album, “Profound Mysteries II” and it does not disappoint. The track is carried by a very fat bass sound that will get your head nodding along instantly. It’s great to see them still putting out quality music after all these years – they are truly masters of the electronic scene.
Who are Royksopp?
Royksopp is a Norwegian electronic music duo from Tromsø, formed in 1998. The duo consists of Svein Berge and Torbjørn Brundtland. An early 12″ single release “Eple” was remixed by various artists including Daft Punk and became a club hit in 2002. In 2005, the band’s second album The Understanding was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Electronic/Dance Album. Royksopp’s third album Junior was released on 7 June 2009. In 2014, the band released their fourth album, Do It Again.
Profound Mysteries II.
On August 19, Royksopp will release their long-awaited album, “Profound Mysteries II”. The album is a follow-up to this year’s “Profound Mysteries” and sees the Norwegian electronic pioneers exploring “reoccurring themes such as love and loss, despair and reconciliation” while also being “wrapped up in an esoteric nod to those artists and genres that shaped us in our formative years”.
The album will feature collaborations with Astrid S, Susanne Sundför and Pixx.
If you’re a fan of electronic music, then you need to check out “Profound Mysteries II” when it drops on August 19. Until then, be sure to give “Control” a listen and let us know what you think!
