As I dive into Sable Blanc’s latest EP ‘New Places’, I find myself instantly transported to a serene space filled with warmth and subtle grooves. Blanc’s ability to blend deep house, downtempo, and jazz-infused melodies speaks to his versatility and attention to detail, creating music that resonates deeply with both the mind and soul. Having followed his journey through earlier works, this release feels like an evolution, a personal reflection of new life chapters, wrapped in sonic brilliance. I was thrilled to feature this EP in episode 567 of my weekly podcast, and now I’m excited to share it with you in more depth, as Blanc invites us to experience new places, both physically and emotionally.

Sable Blanc – New Places

Sable Blanc’s ‘New Places’ EP, released on the ever-impressive Oath imprint, is a collection of tracks that exude introspection, subtle energy, and a deep connection to life’s meaningful moments. With each track, Blanc explores new dimensions of his sound, effortlessly merging jazz-inspired rhythms, ambient textures, and house music’s timeless pulse.

Banana Candy

The EP opens with “Banana Candy (Intro),” a warm and inviting start that sets the tone for the entire journey. The light drumming and playful piano melodies evoke feelings of dawn breaking over a calm horizon. The intricacies lie in the soft details—birdsong, guitar strums—making it an exquisite piece to ease into the day.

Canvas (feat Wes Maples)

“Canvas,” featuring Wes Maples, follows with its smooth, soulful groove. The saxophone solo feels like a gentle breeze, lifting the track into a space of soulful serenity. It’s a track that pairs perfectly with early morning moments or late-night reflections, allowing you to get lost in its hypnotic flow.

Fleur de Sucre

“Fleur de Sucre” is a standout, with its delicate piano work and uplifting arpeggios. The subtle build of melodic layers creates a sense of depth, while the vocal work adds a fresh dynamic, making this track feel both introspective and outwardly expressive.

Remember the Feeling (of Love)

The energy picks up with “Remember the Feeling (of Love),” a deeper, more rhythmic piece that pushes forward with crisp drum patterns and a rich bassline. It’s impossible not to nod along as the track evolves, carrying an underlying sense of nostalgia and connection.

Soft Seasons

The EP closes with “Soft Seasons,” a house-driven track that feels like a celebration of life itself. Its purposeful bassline and evolving chord progressions give off an energetic vibe while maintaining Blanc’s signature warmth. The perfect ending to a record that’s both introspective and hopeful, allowing us to reflect on life’s fleeting but beautiful moments.

Summary

Sable Blanc has once again crafted a deeply personal and engaging EP, showcasing his ability to weave intricate melodies with soulful rhythms. ‘New Places’ is a testament to his growth as an artist and a reflection of his journey into new life stages.
