Soundcloud & Warner Finalize Deal

Here it is and we have been talking and hearing things about since a few months already, but now it’s for real! Soundcloud and Warner Music Group have finalized the deal they were negotiating about for the last couple of months.

The Wall Street Journal states that Soundcloud and Warner Music Group made a license deal together, the deal is that al the royalties is for Warner not only for original material but also for al of the reworks, mash-ups, remixes etcetera. The bad thing is that you if had looked good you could have see this coming. Because a couple of months ago Souncloud assigned Warner Music Group Stephen Bryan, his job was Business Development and Strategy, so now it all makes sense right?

Also in the license agreement it says that Soundcloud will bring a premium subscription for their users in 2015, together with their On Soundcloud service, already Soundcloud has begun updating their works just to make money within the site, they are working with music labels.

We don’t know what’s coming next but i can already smell the greed from soundcloud bringing more services where you need to pay for and in the end the end user pays the bill. What happened to the original essence from soundcloud? it changed the world the way music is being made it opened doors to creativity, and now they wanna shut that down.

At the same time Soundcloud is too busy with looking for ways to make more money, their servers crash all the time, or are very slow, a lot of errors on the soundcloud website, and creative producers and dj’s get their work and passion taken down from it. Soundcloud all cares about is their monetization and not the functionality of the website and the user friendliness and last but not least the trust of their users. they are losing it and a lot of people are walking away from it. Time for the next big thing, what will it be?
