For this Track Talk I’m sharing something special from a producer whose music has shaped deep house floors for more than twenty years. T. Markakis has always been about warmth, groove and emotion, and with his latest release Little Prince on Vibe Me To The Moon, he adds a personal chapter inspired by his seven year old autistic son.
Alongside the release, he shared ten tracks that shaped who he is as an artist. These are his selections, his comments and his journey in his own words.
1. Marshall Jefferson – Move Your Body
(A timeless classic! The one that bring me inside house music.)
2. Chez Ramirez – I Never Knew Love (Made It Detroit Mix)
(The deep, emotional side of house. I still play this one often.)
3. Kevin Yost – One Starry Night
(The smoothness, the groove, the feeling! This was a big inspiration early on.)
4. Jerome Sydenham – Je Ka Jo (Demo Version)
(A masterpiece!)
5. Sandy Rivera, Haze – Changes
(A track full of soul & emotion. A true house anthem that never ages.)
6. Hardsoul & Ron Carroll – Back Together
(The classic of classics. It reminds me of why I fell in love with this music.)
7. Jon Cutler Feat. E-Man – It’s Yours
(One of my favourite! It connects with people instantly.)
8. T.Markakis – Marvins Touch
(A personal track! Smooth, warm and made from the heart.)
9. T.Markakis – That Jazz Feeling
(One of my favourites. Jazzy, deep & full of groove.)
10. T.Markakis – Little Prince
(My latest release! Made with love for my son. It’s the most personal & emotion track of me so far.)
Artist’s Closing Line
These tracks are special to me because they each represent a moment in my musical story, from the first house records I fell in love with to my own latest release.
