Straight out of Istanbul, the extraordinary Zeynep Erbay infuses an alluring touch of the exotic into NuNorthern Soul with her latest release, the ‘Healer EP’. Join us as we delve into the sonic tapestry of her journey, exploring the musical milestones that have shaped this enchanting artist’s career. From her first chords to her latest harmonies, Zeynep’s musical timeline is a captivating tale of passion, growth, and the relentless pursuit of artistry.

1.Chick Corea / Prelude El Bozo

Chick Corea was one of my top artists when I was in middle school and high school. I listened to every album of his, and his approach to jazz and fusion impressed me during those times. However, this album ‘My Spanish Heart’ is something different to me. The melodies in this prelude stir my emotions every time I listen.

2. The Orb / Little Fluffy Clouds

The seamless transition between the vocals and melodies in this song is truly captivating. It’s as if the two elements intertwine effortlessly, creating a harmonious and enchanting fusion of sound.

3. Dreams Unlimited – Deep In You (Deep Love Remix)

Timeless quality of the vocals and the classic nature of the arrangement make this song truly exceptional.

4. Teddy Douglas & Luis Radio – The Violin ( Basement Boys Club Mix) 1999

A perfect combination of violin with house music. This record I found in Rush Hour and bought recently took me back to a long time ago 🙂

5. Marcos Valle – On Line

I remember discovering this song in Compost’s ‘Glücklich’ series. I love it.

6. Silence feat. Sarah McLachlan by Delerium Tiesto’s In Search of Sunrise Remix

The very first trance track I heard when I was in conservatory and really impressed!

7. Eric Prydz – Pijanno

It’s my favorite dance tune !

8. Daft Punk –  Random Access Memories: Giorgio by Moroder.

One of the most influential groups that has shaped my desire to create electronic music is Daft Punk. The melodic structures somewhat remind me of classical foundations, which in turn motivates me. Years ago, when they came to Istanbul, I had the opportunity to work backstage, and I can easily say it was one of the most memorable concerts of my life.

9. Todd Terje Alfonso Muskedunder (Deetron Remix)

The progression and intensity of the bass, along with the blossoming of the melody. Captivating and beautiful uplifting feeling in this song.

10. Zeynep Erbay  – Healer Whale

The Story of a whale searching for her family while helping others along the way, which acts as a metaphor for our wider search for belonging and acceptance.
