Astrolead Recordings is the Spanish record label based out of the Canary Islands and run by Ilya Santana. Founded in 2015, the label specializes in all things disco in the purest sense. Astrolead is a forward-thinking imprint with artists like Hardway Bros, Dennis Kayne, Beyond the Struttosphere, and Ichisan all helping to shape the label across the years.

Trip Tease

For their next release Astrolead welcomes Mexico’s Trip Tease and Alain Vice aka Carlos Saleme with their risqué titled “Sex Having Disco.” The EP takes inspiration from the vibrant colours of ’80s underground club nights, blending Italo disco, synth wave, cosmic techno, and electronic rock. Both nostalgic and futuristic, this genre-bending fusion creates a style that transcends time by mixing the analogue warmth of the past with the avant guard energy of the future. With shimmering synths, driving basslines, and cosmic rhythms, “Sex Having Disco” transports dancers back in time. It’s a sonic experience that’s as cinematic as it is danceable, as it channels the spirit of neon-drenched nights and digital utopias alike. Nordic vibemaster Prins Thomas jumps onboard with a Diskomiks of his trademark interstellar rhythms and energetic upbeat vibrations.

Fragma – Tocas Miracle

Heard this when I was in high school, stuck with me forever, when I learned that sound was the Muted guitar from M1 I just connected all the dots in what I liked and what sounds would stick with my producing, forever.

Jack Pattern – Disco Prohibido

This Song Alain showed it to me, it’s the base of what our EP sounds like, it was a long time ago and it was the first time I listened to this kind of beat and sounds. We wanted to do something like this, this was what Alain was hearing and it stuck with me. Alain gave this direction to my dreamy and melodic sounds. This was a very big inspiration to our EP.

Miguel Campbell – Something Special

This song also reminds me of Alain. A very pretty song which kink of blended house and this disco sound. This also reminds me a bit of making a change in my brain as a producer and blending to Alain’s taste for at least this release.

Fred Again – Bleu

Fred again changed my life. He has been an influence since I started to listen to music. I put him in the same reign as Bicep or other such modern UK producers. For me this kind of music gives dreamy and nostalgic music a twist with some old school beats and vibes, definitely an inspiration in all of my music.

La Royale – The Crush

La royale is a very good friend of mine. It was very inspiring to listen to this so close to home. It made me think it was more possible to produce an amazing track. This also breaks the genre in the music I’ve been doing, since it is not very similar but definitely has an influence in me. Especially on this EP.

DJ Seinfeld – U Hold Me Without a Touch

This 90s sound, and lo fi energy, the nostalgia. For me, it is perfect. I would love to someday do something this good

Tornado Wallace – Voices

Torndados versatility is amazing. Some songs have this disco sound but then suddenly this song appears a more atmospheric and nostalgic song with a lot of 90s instruments like the M1. This gives me too much inspiration in my music as to which sounds have this atmosphere that transcends synths which for me are the main sounds I used until I started hearing this type of music.

Mall Grab – Love Reigns

Another song that made me love 90s piano which resonates also with the old school house energy.

DJ Seinfeld – Home Calling (Trip Tease Remix)

This is a remix I did for DJ Seinfeld and it was released on Ninja Tune and it was a complete honor to be part of an artist’s journey who is pretty much one of my heroes. I used many 90s sounds and synths, and I think it is a very nice example of all of the inspirations I’ve gotten from my musical journey.

Trip Tease & Alain Vice – Acapulco Wave

I think my favorite song on our release. This has this 80s/90s nostalgia of Acapulco atmosphere which was home for all this glamour and groove. I think this song really gets a vibe of what I thought it felt being there without it being an obvious 80s song. The retro sounds and the energy just makes me feel like I am there. I was never there though lol.  Acapulco was my home but more until 2000s, so I never got to see it in its boom in the 80s/90s.

Conclusion

Big thanks to Trip Tease for opening up his record bag and sharing the soundtrack to his creative journey. It’s always inspiring to see how personal influences become the foundation for something fresh and forward-thinking. Make sure you check out the new Sex Having Disco EP on Astrolead Recordings, featuring a cosmic remix from Prins Thomas. Stream it, support it, and let it transport you straight onto a neon-lit dancefloor, past, present, and future colliding in one release.
